- HELD OVER DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND!

"(An) after-hours view of the artist feels raw and disturbingly intimate. It¹s a glimpse of a profound unease that may explain, a little, the nagging strangeness of his art: its restlessness, its eerie stillness, the hung-over brightness of its colors...'William Eggleston in the Real World' casts more light than you expect, and deeper shadows." - Terrence Rafferty, The New York Times

Tickets available online - Visit FilmForum.org

The film will also have a two-week run at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), beginning November 18, 2005.

By the Ways (A Journey with William Eggleston)

Lamplighter Films has produced on a documentary film about William Eggleston. Highlights of the film include interviews with Eggleston, footage of the artist at work in locations including Memphis, Mississippi, New Orleans, France, and Italy; interviews with family, friends, and collectors including David Byrne, Dennis Hopper, and Tav Falco; and footage of the dye transfer printing process.

The film won the National Georges de Beauregard Prize at the 2005 Marseilles Film Festival, and will also be appearing at the Lisbon International Documentary Film Festival.

"Another look at the United States, by the first-time French directors Vincent Gérard and Cédric Laty, was one of the most original French competitors. 'By the Ways (A Journey with William Eggleston)' follows the American photographer without making him or his photos the subject, but rather by looking at him - and his passions - without an ounce of reverence. Oblique and artful without being coy or arty, 'By the Ways' seemed to take the public by surprise.

Stranded in Canton

"Shot in 1974 with a Sony Porta-pak, the crazily careering "Stranded in Canton" documents a cast of hard-drinking Southerners with the intimacy, ease and instability of a seasoned participant." - Roberta Smith, The New York Times
